Quotations About Houses:

He that builds a fair house upon an ill seat, committeth himself to prison.

Houses are like sentinels in the plain, old keepers of the weather watch...All colors wear soon away in the wind and rain, and then the wood is burned gray and the grain appears and the nails turn red with rust.

If you want a golden rule that will fit everybody, this is it: Have nothing in your houses that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful.

It's 'aving 'ouses built by men, I believe, makes all the work and trouble.

Old houses mended,
Cost little less than new before they 're ended.

When your house contains...so many services that the hardware could stand up by itself without any assistance from the house, why have a house to hold it up?
